Ten ounces of French terry that finally gets the weight right.
Most tops force a choice. Sweatshirt heft that traps heat, or a tee so thin it collapses on the body. This one lands between them. 10 oz/yd² (340 g/m²) French terry in 87% cotton, 13% polyester holds its shape without going stiff, so the piece stands up on its own from spring straight through autumn.
The fit is where it earns its keep. A close ribbed crew neck sits snug and draws a clean line across the collarbone. Below it, dropped shoulders widen the frame and the body opens into a relaxed boxy cut that skims instead of pulling. It reads oversized without swallowing you, so you get structure up top and easy room through the middle.
Raw-cut, frayed edges finish the neck opening, armholes and hem. No fussy hems, no stiffness, just an honest everyday piece that softens with every wash and looks better the more you beat on it.
Length is deliberate. At around 5'4" it sits just above the fullest part of your seat. Taller, and it hits at the bottom of your waistband. Either way it works solo, layered over a long sleeve, tucked, or left to hang.

Looped terry back, smooth face. The polyester content is there for shape retention, so the neck and armholes stay true instead of stretching out over a season.

Because the edges are cut raw rather than hemmed, they soften and feather over the first few washes, then settle. Slight length variation between pieces is normal with a cut finish like this.
How the fit runs. Take your usual size for the intended boxy look. Size down for a closer, more standard cut. Size up for a fuller oversized drape. Between sizes, size up.

How to measure. Lay a top you already like flat on a hard surface, smoothed out with no wrinkles.
- Chest: measure straight across from armhole to armhole. That flat number is what the chart above lists, so compare like to like. Double it for full circumference.
- Length: measure from the highest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem.
- Shoulder: measure across the back from one shoulder edge to the other.
Pick the size that matches your numbers or runs slightly larger.
- Machine wash at 86°F / 30°C on a gentle cycle
- Do not bleach
- Tumble dry low
- Iron at low temperature, and avoid ironing directly on any print
- Do not dry clean
Wash inside out to keep the black deep and the terry face smooth. Trim loose threads at the raw edges rather than pulling them.
Is 10 oz too warm for summer?
No. French terry breathes through the looped back, and the open armholes and boxy body keep air moving. It works spring through autumn.
Will the raw edges unravel?
They fray a little, then stop. That feathered edge is the finish, not a defect. Trim stray threads, do not pull them.
How boxy is boxy?
Straight through the body with a dropped shoulder, roomy rather than clingy. Size down if you want a closer cut.
