Black, Queer, Trans, Timeless Musical Journey

Black, Queer, Trans, Timeless
A Black LGBTQ+ playlist through the decades of Black LGBTQIA+ legacy. It shines a light on transgender and gender non-conforming artists who were themselves, broke new ground, and changed music and culture for good.

In honor of Black History Month, and especially on this last day, let these songs carry you through. They celebrate the guts and genius of Black queer and trans artists. Think Ma Rainey's unapologetic blues, Jackie Shane's soulful defiance, and Beverly Glenn-Copeland's otherworldly compositions. These artists made room to be themselves long before the world caught up.

Let these songs remind us that Black queer artists have always been here. They've been making art, pushing back, and singing the future into being the whole time.
