Sub-Q Inject-Ease — Auto-Injector for Subcutaneous HRT & Testosterone Injections

Consider shot day anxiety a thing of the past.

The Sub-Q Inject-Ease is a spring-loaded auto-injector that makes subcutaneous injections significantly easier and less painful. Load your syringe, place the tip against your skin, and press the button — the needle inserts automatically. You never have to push it through yourself.

You control the injection speed at your own pace. The Inject-Ease is designed for subcutaneous (Sub-Q) injections only — ideal for testosterone HRT, insulin, blood thinners, fertility medications, and other Sub-Q prescriptions. It's built for one-handed use, so you can reach the abdomen, thighs, and other hard-to-access injection sites without assistance.

If you've been dreading shot day, struggling with needle anxiety, or self-injecting alone — this device is worth trying.

What is the Inject-Ease?

The Inject-Ease is a reusable auto-injector made by AmbiMedInc. It uses a spring-loaded mechanism to insert a subcutaneous needle automatically when you press a button — eliminating the need to manually push the needle through your skin. It works with standard 25–26 gauge, 5/8" needles and 1 mL Slip Tip syringes. It does not work with intramuscular (IM) needles or Luer-Lock syringes.

Who Is the Inject-Ease For?

The Inject-Ease is used by thousands of people who self-administer subcutaneous injections, including:

  • Trans men and trans masc people on subcutaneous testosterone HRT
  • People managing needle anxiety or phobia around self-injection
  • Those with limited dexterity who find manual needle insertion difficult
  • Anyone who self-injects alone and needs reliable one-handed access to injection sites
  • People on insulin, blood thinners, fertility medications, or other Sub-Q prescriptions

The hardest part of self-injection for most people is the moment of needle insertion — slowly pushing it through the skin. The Inject-Ease eliminates that entirely. The spring fires the needle instantly, which most users find dramatically less distressing than manual insertion.

How It Works — Step by Step
  1. Draw your medication into a compatible syringe as usual
  2. Load the syringe into the Inject-Ease device
  3. Place the tip flat and flush against your injection site
  4. Press the button — the needle inserts automatically
  5. Push the plunger at your own pace to inject the medication
  6. Remove the device and dispose of the syringe safely

The device itself never contacts the needle or medication, so it stays clean between uses. Wipe the exterior with an alcohol wipe as needed.

Compatibility & Requirements
Needle gauge 25–26 gauge, 5/8" (16mm) length
Syringe type 1 mL Slip Tip only
Not compatible with Luer-Lock syringes, IM needles, needles longer than 5/8"
Injection type Subcutaneous (Sub-Q) only — not for intramuscular injections
Reusable? Yes — device is reusable. Only the syringe and needle are single-use
Made by AmbiMedInc.
Slip Tip vs. Luer-Lock: Slip Tip syringes have a smooth tapered end — the needle slides straight on. Luer-Lock syringes have a threaded twist-on connector. If you're unsure which type your pharmacy dispenses, check the packaging or ask before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this for testosterone injections?
Yes — the Inject-Ease works with subcutaneous testosterone injections using a 25–26 gauge, 5/8" needle and 1 mL Slip Tip syringe. It is not designed for intramuscular injections. Most trans people on SubQ testosterone use exactly this gauge and syringe size. If you're on IM testosterone and want to switch to SubQ, speak with your prescriber — many people find SubQ easier, less painful, and more accessible for self-injection.
What is a SubQ auto-injector and how does it work?
A SubQ auto-injector is a spring-loaded device that automatically inserts a subcutaneous needle when triggered — so you press a button instead of manually pushing the needle through your skin. The Inject-Ease delivers a fast, consistent insertion depth every time. Once inserted, you push the plunger yourself to control injection speed at your own pace.
Does it actually help with needle anxiety?
Yes. The most anxiety-inducing moment for most people is the slow, deliberate push of a needle through skin. The Inject-Ease eliminates that — the spring fires the needle instantly, so there's no prolonged anticipation or manual force. Many people who have struggled with self-injection for months report that using an auto-injector changes their shot day experience entirely.
How long does the device last?
The Inject-Ease is built to be reusable indefinitely. The device never contacts the needle or medication, so contamination isn't a concern. Wipe the exterior with an alcohol wipe between uses. Many people use the same device for years. Replace it if the spring mechanism feels weakened or the button no longer fires consistently.
Will this work with my syringes?
It fits 1 mL Slip Tip syringes only. Luer-Lock syringes will not fit. If you're unsure which type your pharmacy dispenses, check the packaging or ask — most Sub-Q testosterone protocols use 1 mL syringes and most pharmacies carry Slip Tip versions.
Can I use this for IM (intramuscular) testosterone injections?
No. The Inject-Ease is designed for subcutaneous injections with 5/8" needles only. IM testosterone typically uses 1"–1.5" needles at a different gauge (21–23g), which are not compatible. If you're on IM and interested in auto-injection, speak with your prescriber about whether switching to SubQ is appropriate for you.
What injection sites can I use?
Standard SubQ sites — abdomen (at least 2" from the navel), outer thigh, and back of the upper arm. The one-handed design makes the abdomen and thigh the most accessible for solo use. Rotate injection sites to avoid scar tissue buildup.
Is SubQ testosterone injection right for me?
SubQ testosterone is an increasingly common administration method — research shows similar testosterone levels and hormone stability to IM, often with less injection-site discomfort. Whether it's right for you depends on your formulation, concentration, and prescriber's guidance. Speak with your doctor before changing your injection method. See our SubQ shots guide and injection pain guide for more.

It works

I inject subcutaneously. This made pinning very easy, despite my fear of needles. I use a 27g 1/2 inch needle, and I laughed during my first use because I literally did not feel a thing.

Huge Help

Transfemme here! I was definitely skeptical and unsure about this, but really wanted to try an autoinjector. My needle anxiety is awful. I'm happy to say, it kind of rules.

I saw a lot of comments about syringes/needles not being compatible with this, so I actually wound up calling Ambimed's customer service line to ask about it LOL and they were super helpful and assured me that the inject-ease model that TG Supply sells already has the proper setup inside the package and even includes some spacers. I like literally told them what syringes I had and they confirmed for me. AmbiMed's customer service number is 8314751765 if you want to triple check with them before buying.

Also! Watch the YouTube video TG Supply posted. I followed along with it while I was learning to use the injector and it was super useful.

I kind of love this and it really really helps. I actually don't fear shot day anymore! Try itttttt

Aw man, I now have the XYOSTED, So I gave this to my boyfriend and he uses it but if you don’t have insurance that can cover XYOSTED this thing is awesome and easy to use as well.

I no longer have anxiety giving myself my T shots. This has been the best investment I’ve made so far in my transition. Can’t recommend it enough!

Holy Cow This Is Awesome

I had my doubts but this is the best thing since sliced bread. My injections are sometimes painful because of toughening of the injection area. The Inject-Ease has made it NOT hurt at all! Thank you!
